Our riverside campsite offers just 15 premium stands out of 28, giving each guest extra breathing room with an empty stand on either side. Whether you’re waking up to mountain views or the quiet charm of the bush, every site comes with its own braai stand and plenty of privacy.

 

🛠️ Everything You Need, Right Where You Need It

 

Electricity: Shared supply points with 4 plug sockets—just bring your blue camping plug and a long extension cable.

Water: Each stand has its own water point.

Waste: Rubbish bins are provided throughout the site.

Three ablution blocks: Two smaller ones on the edges and a large central block.

Central block: Separate Ladies and Men’s bathrooms with multiple toilets and showers.

Extras: Ladies bathroom includes two bathtubs, and a communal scullery is available for easy cleanup.

Two lapa areas with stunning river views—perfect for sundowners or social gatherings.

Swimming pools: One large pool for adults and a smaller one for kids.

General Rules

  • Pets allowed at your own risk. Dogs to be on leash
  • Please clean up after your pets and do not disturb other campers
  • No loud music! All music to be off by 8pm at the latest. We are a quiet campsite for people to enjoy nature
  • No smoking allowed in buildings, ablutions , bush and river by the campsite to avoid potential fire hazards
  • Children should be aware of all the rules and that they obey them please
  • Keep to the speed limit of 10km / h for children and wildlife safety
  • No heavy vehicles or 4-wheelers are allowed
  • NO open fires allowed in the bush
  • There are wild animals so please do not disturb, feed or hurt them in any way
  • No solid ground sheets are allowed
  • No playing in the ablutions
  • We do not take Cash or have card facilites at the camp
  • All payments via EFT
  • No wood may be taken from the bush
  • If you do not abide by a our rules we reserve the right to ask you to leave

Pool Rules

  • No glasses or glass bottles are allowed in or near the pool or river
  • No diving or jumping in the pool or river
  • No eating or drinking is permitted in the pool or river
  • Pool will be closed between 10pm and 6am in the mornings. Cleaning is in process and chemicals are thrown into the pool.
  • All children are to be supervised around the pool area and river. There are no lifeguards on duty.
  • Use of the pool, river and surrounding is at your own risk
  • No music to be played by the pool area

By entering Wilge River Bush Camp or participating in any activities or entertainment on-site, guests acknowledge and accept that they do so entirely at their own risk.

 

The owners and management of Wilge River Bush Camp shall not be held liable for any loss, theft, damage to personal property, injury, or death arising from the use of our facilities or participation in any camp-related activities.

 

We reserve the right to request any guest to leave the premises—without refund—should they fail to comply with camp rules or behave in a manner deemed inappropriate or unsafe.

 

Please be aware that Wilge River Bush Camp is situated in a natural environment where wildlife roams freely. Sightings of hippos, monkeys, baboons, snakes, and other wild animals are common in the surrounding area. Guests are advised to exercise caution and respect the natural habitat at all times.
